God Fearing Above All
Sheikh Khalid Twaiti, a Yemeni boxer whose faith guides his journey to success in the ring. Learn how his devotion to Islam shapes his conviction, wisdom, and ability to navigate the intense emotions of being a fighter. I had the honor of speaking with this WBA Continental Americas Champion.

Faith and Fortitude
Khalid Twaiti's story is unique because of his unwavering faith in God, which serves as the cornerstone of his life and boxing career. This devotion inspires him to approach every challenge with humility and determination, making him a role model for aspiring athletes and anyone seeking inspiration. During the interview he stated that "Islam is the key to my life. As humans we go through many things that trigger different emotions. Islam gave me the wisdom on how to go about those positive and negative emotions. For example: fear. Fear is something that we all feel at times and I believe that if you don’t fear God you’ll place that emotion else where. It could be another human or even something like fearing what the future may hold. So instead I choose to fear God and move with conviction, faith and courage".

Champion's Mentality
Boxing enthusiasts who appreciate champions that remain humble despite their achievements will be particularly drawn to Khalid Twaiti's journey. His commitment to his faith and his people, coupled with his success in the ring, offers a refreshing perspective on what it means to be a true champion. Khalid plans to return to Yemeni one day to serve the people there and reminds us that "Yemenis are a people of great character they are deep rooted in faith and culture". One of the other things discussed in the interview was Muhammad Ali and his character as a fighter and humanitarian. Twaiti said "Ali is a pillar in the sport of boxing and a global icon. He exemplifies what it means to move with conviction, courage and faith. If he was with us I’d love to ask him how is he ? (Genuinely not a surface level ‘how are you?’)"
I am excited to see what's next following this man's fighting career and will definitely be following his journey
